Administrators who use remote access to access their admin network will need to log into the CRM and change the status of your user account to Admin.
How to do this:
- Log in to the CRM here.
- Click School Email Control Panel
- Click Allow User to post to the day book
- Select your user(You may want to search for your name) and click Convert to Admin.
- This process can take up to an hour to complete.
This new method means that you can manage who can and can't access certain parts of the network.
We are now checking over 1800 services and over 1700 are responding OK!
This is great news for the system which was initially tested up to 1000 services, we then tested 5000 services and it has been fine :)
The hard disk check had a few updates and that is now in final production.
Remote monitoring has become the one thing we rely on to ensure high available to ICT inside of Primary Schools and has proved itself invaluable time and time again.
Please try to remember it is a free service available to all UK schools, we have no adds or nasty spam so please consider one of Primary Technologys other services such as
School Email
The new hard disk check is now in beta and should appear on your servers as of today.
I'm beginning work on a new function to read hard disk status from the syslog to check for signs of corruption, if your updates are working then this will automatically appear on your servers.

Your remote monitoring software now attempts to download an EICAR virus, even if your firewall will stop this virus we download another file that replaces a string to become a virus.
This EICAR virus is NOT harmful. It is for our systems so we can test to see if your anti virus software is working.
For engineer purpose the test script is available in C:\Program Files\Montitech\NC_Net\script\test_antivirus.vbs
The Primary Technology Remote Monitoring service now supports SIMs and CMIS. SIMS and CMIS are the 2 most commonly used MIS?. It is important that we monitor the service state and database version of these products. This information allows the schools to ensure their MIS is completely up to date and enables Primary Technology engineers to quickly see a snapshot status of their schools most critical service.
Edumon has been renamed Remote Monitoring, this is to simplify the experience of the schools and to move away from the Edu Branding which could potentially cause conflict with Edusite which was recently purchased by Welcome3 Ltd.
Edumon is a product/service that is provided to schools that have subscribed to technical support packages by Primary Technology for. Edumon allows Primary Technology and the schools to remotely monitor critical services. We monitor disk usage, memory usage, processor usage and other services to ensure downtime is an absolute minimum. We can also use this tool to monitor sophos antivirus and school MIS versions to ensure that security is tight and that business continuity is maintained.
Schools receive notifications via Email/Phone call if any problems arise. This tool has also enabled us to monitor internet connectivity to view uptime/downtime of the Bradford Learning Network and report back to the LEA/schools with accurate data.
To login to Edumon visit http://secure.primaryt.co.uk/nagios and log in with your Primary Email username and password.
To change your Edumon settings simply log into the Management System at http://crm.primaryt.co.uk
